August 1 is National Pinball Day – but at a handful of Michigan breweries, the flippers are flapping and the silver balls are flying, almost every day of the year!
Arctic Circle Brewing, Chesterfield Township
Grab a beer and try your hand at the Foo Fighters or Toy Story 4 pinball games, or the local favorite – Ms. Pacman.
One Well Brewing, Kalamazoo
The Wizard’s Pinball Palace is open to free play, seasonal leagues (the second and fourth Wednesday of the month) and open monthly tournaments (Wednesdays – September 18, November 20 and December 18). There is even a Wizard’s Pinball Open on Wednesday, October 30. Visitors to One Well will find 50 pinball machines, as well as 10 arcade games, dart boards, pool tables, air hockey and foosball.
Old Mill Brewpub, Plainwell
In recent years, this historic mill-turned-brewery has added a handful of pinball machines to its second level ballroom.
Ore Dock Brewing, Marquette
If you’re in da UP, stop by and drop your quarters into the machines at Ore Dock, including The Addams Family, Police Force and Embryon.
Paw Paw Brewing, Paw Paw
Rock out on the two machines at this brewery – including AC/DC and Aerosmith.
Right Brain Brewery, Traverse City
You’ll find over 30 vintage machines in Traverse City’s SoFo District (South of Fourteenth), including Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy, Elvira’s House of Horrors, Pulp Fiction and Scooby-Do. RBB also offers Pinball Leagues including Pinball Wars every Thursday starting at 7pm, Belles & Chimes every other Sunday at 6pm; and the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) Season Tournament right after the first of the year.
Saugatuck Brewing, Saugatuck
The Barrel Room offers a variety of games including three pinball machines (X-Men, Shrek and Star Wars), bumper pool tables, dart boards, pool tables, Ringo and even board games.
